Annemarie Maini

Annemarie Maini and her husband moved to South Orange in 2004 with their two sons. Annemarie has deep roots in community service and believes the library should be the center of our community. She currently serves on the SOMSD School Board and is active in the West Montrose Neighborhood Association. She was a founding force of organizing all ten neighborhoods into the SONA organization. She served as co-president of the South Orange Middle School Home and School Association (2014-15) and served on the Board of YouthNet from 2010-14. She has also had the privilege of volunteering for the best day in South Orange as a PlayDay Volunteer Coordinator. She also served as Team Mom for the U12/U14 Morris Rugby Club for many years and for the high school boys 7s season as well.

Since 2007, she has owned and directed the South Orange Country Day Preschool. Maini graduated in 1988 with a BA in Mathematics with a Secondary Education Certification from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She received an MA in Mathematics Education from Syracuse University in 1990 and an MBA from Cornell in 1994.

Annemarie's teaching experience includes student teaching middle school mathematics at SUNY, design and implementation of a math program for public high schools as a Syracuse graduate teaching assistant, algebra for incoming Syracuse freshmen, supervision of undergraduate student teachers in the Syracuse area schools, and one year teaching Probability, Linear Algebra and Calculus at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, NY. Annemarie was also employed by Chase Manhattan Bank from 1994-2000, and then the merged JP Morgan Chase until 2005, Maini held increasingly senior roles in the retail bank, and eventually served as a Vice President in charge of customer balance growth.
